24 Ways You Can Make a Difference
1. Send us your county or town's statistics; how many animals were impounded, surrendered, tec to your shelter or rescue; how many were adopted, reclaimed or euthanized; how many were feral cats; how much did all this cost
2. Send us information on low cost or free spay/neuter programs in your area.
3. Know who your local animal control officer is and let him/her be the eyes and ears for you on animal problems. Support you ACO by requesting your town provide him/her resources to do their job.
4. Volunteer at your local shelter.
5. Write letters to your State Senator and Represenative to support animal protective legislation.
6. Become a member of SpayArkansas and other animal protection organizations.
7. Use the tax return check off box to support the state spay/neuter program and buy a spay/neuter vanity license plate. (coming soon, we hope)
8. Write a letter to the editor in your local paper.
9. Become a vegatarian.
10. Set up a spay/neuter information at a local function, event or county fair.
11. Donate financially to animal protection and support organization.
12. Educate a neighbor/resident about his/her 'dog chained for life'.
13. Report animal cruelty to ACO, your local Humane Society and the local media.
14. Live and shop with compassion.
15. Know your adversaries and what they are doing.

17. Demonstate on anti-fur day. (day after Thanksgiving)
18. Run for public office.
19. Protest circuses with captive wildlife.
20. Feed a feral cat. (check out ally cat website)
21. Work to help elect an animal-friendly legislator.
22. Make your property wildlife friendly. (contact HSUS)
23. Adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue, NOT a kennel or pet store.
24. Host a fundraising party for SpayArkansas, or your local rescue, shelter, or humane society.
